Weena Cabase - Morante

Portrait of Weena by her sister Amapola

Born as a twin to Charles "Chuck" Cabase, August 30, 1960 in Cebu City, Philippines to Manny Cabase and Sheila Campogan. - Cabase. Sadly, her twin died a few days after birth.

Educated in Cebu City and graduated High School in Manila, Philippines..

Dabbled with singing and playing the violin (playing Third Violin with Amapola doing Second Violin and their Dad Manny playing lead violin during radio broadcasts of the Holy Week Ceremonies in Cebu City, Philippines) and piano at an early age and pursued a singing career (third voice of the "Promissory Notes" trio with April singing lead and Chatty Aquino (a cousin who still lives in Manila) singing second voice appearing regularly at the "Ugly Duckling" Supper Club and "Cebu Restaurant" in Makati, Manila) until she met and married Elmer Morante.

Most Important Gig: Sang with Amapola, April and Rodney for Governor Gerry Brown on the Amapola Concert at the Venetian Room of the Fairmont Hotel San Francisco.

Is a loving and nurturing mother of two sons: Ryan and Ivan.

Weena happily works for the US Postal System and has since whittled her figure from a size 10 to a size 6 from her "daily walks" she says.  More about Weena later.
