Born Priscilla Campogan - Cabase on August 10, 1926 in Tuburan, Cebu of the Philippines. Sheila was still a young girl when her mother died at an early age from a congenital heart problem. Having a busy father, Sheila helped raise herself and her younger sister Charito and the youngest of the family named Eddie. Married Manuel Cabase on Valentines day when she was just in her teens, she never really lived her life as a normal teenager and instead gave birth to her first baby whom she named Amapola. Becoming busy with her family, Sheila abandoned her classical piano career and focused her time on her talented family and supported them all the way. Proof of this are the successes Manny Cabase and Amapola Cabase have garnered in their respective musical careers. Sheila graduated college from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City. Later she became a faculty member there and also at the University of the Visayas teaching college English and Mathematics. Sheila who always wrote poems during her spare time now writes lyrics to many of her husband's compositions and conducts a choir that she and her husband organizes in the Bay Area from time to time.
